For the second year straight city employees have enjoyed Veterans Day as a holiday, joining the federal government banks, schools and county government as a day to honor those who have served to protect our country's freedom. As an Army veteran I was proud to have led the initiative for the city to create this holiday. I would like to thank all veterans ( and their families) for their service and sacrifice to protect the American way if life.
